Helping answer the questions of life for young men.

WE HAVE ANSWERS FOR CAREGIVERS, TOO.

What makes Real Men Outfitters unique?
Real Men Outfitters (RMO) is unique in that our outings are individually designed with a goal in mind. Whether hunting, fishing or tent camping, each outing’s activities are used to disciple and teach a specific biblical lesson.

Who are the RMO guides?
RMO guides are experienced outdoorsman who actively seek a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our guides serve as excellent role models and friends for your child. They are energetic, hard-working, caring adults willing to share both their love for Jesus Christ and their passion for His outdoors.

Is this program affiliated with a church?
We are not affiliated with a particular church or denomination. However, several Churches in the Tyler-area support RMO. Examples are Rock Hill, Noonday Baptist, Green Acres Baptist Church and First Baptist Church - Tyler (South Campus).

Do I have to be a Christian to be a member?
No, we encourage you to come as you are.

Do you help just any kids or ones that just like to hunt and fish?
Our mission is to reach boys through all outdoor activities. We frequently play other sports such as football and basketball at our outings and events. It is perfectly OK If kids don’t enjoy hunting and fishing. In fact, many of the boys just enjoy camping for the fellowship and the opportunity to be outdoors. As long as the young man enjoys being active, the program can benefit him.

How safe are outings?
Outings are very safe. RMO guides are with your child every step of the way offering their training, experience, safety skills and knowledge.

All activities include a safety orientation to inform participants of the necessary precautions they need to take. This procedure is in addition to safety oversight offered throughout the activity. All RMO guides are hunter-safety certified.

What if I have no previous outdoors experience?
That is not necessary. Our guides are there to answer all questions, providing support when needed. If your child comes with a positive attitude and a willingness to participate and he will have a great time.

Do RMO guides have any medical certifications?
A guide with First Aid/CPR certification will be present on every outing. Some guides have extensive medical training.

Is there a process to get involved in this program?
There is no formal process to join RMO. The best way to get involved is to come to our weekly meetings! All meeting dates and times are posted on the events page. Upcoming outings are also posted on the events page. Participants who wish to attend outings must complete required registration paperwork (also available on the events page).

Do you need more male volunteers to help with this program?
