Building confidence and spirituality in God's creation

Over 200 outings the last ten years.

The goal of Real Men Outfitters (RMO) is to build relationships with boys and men through outdoor activities and positively influence them to be better sons, husbands and fathers. With this mission in mind, RMO volunteers have conducted over 200 outings and events in the last ten years.

In addition to annual events such as a sporting clay shoot and summer camp, activities have included deer, hog, duck and dove hunts. Also, freshwater and saltwater fishing trips, “survival” outings, hiking, and camping trips. Of course, we never forget to include the competition and fun of pickup football, baseball and basketball games.

Each activity contains a spiritual element that we call campfire. During campfire, the boys are asked to ponder questions such as “What is faith?” and

“What does it mean to be a real man?” Adult leaders guide them through these interactive sessions that feature prayer and scripture readings.

LEAVE EVERY PLACE BETTER THAN BEFORE

We believe that we should leave every place we visit better than we found it. To that end, we often take on building and grounds improvement projects or activities as simple as picking up trash.

During outings, every young man is expected to help with cooking and cleaning. The goal is to help them become more self-sufficient, accept responsibilities and develop skills to help them in their everyday lives. This discipline will benefit them and their families.

RMO emphasizes safety in all activities and at all times. We teach and emphasize gun, bow and boating safety. We also train outdoor survival skills.
